Time is running out if you want your business to be in the 2011 Visitor’s Guide for Grand Lake and the four counties of Craig, Delaware, Mayes and Ottawa Counties.
There will be 100,000 Visitor Guides printed and distributed all over the region and the nation. The Visitor Guide is also distributed in hotels, restaurants, convenience stores and resorts.
We work closely with the Department of Tourism to distribute the Guide. Each one of the State Visitor’s Centers will receive the guide to distribute as well as sending them throughout the nation as requests are made through the TravelOK website. They send out close to 1000 guides per month.
The Visitor Guide will also see more distribution outside of Oklahoma next year as we will be putting our guide in targeted areas such as Wichita and Kansas City.
We will also be making a number of changes to the layout of our guide. We have had a great deal of positive response on our website as we have made it easier for people to go to the category they are looking for and find the businesses they want. We are going to have the same type of layout in our new guide.
We will have ads placed in categories such as “Where to Stay,” “What to Do,” and “Where to Eat” and we will have businesses listed in their subcategory, just like the website for Lodging, Hotels etc. We will also have an alphabetical listing in the back so if someone knows the name of the business they will be able to quickly find the business and see what pages their ads or listings are on.
We will also be improving our map in the Visitor’s Guide by allowing businesses to buy a locator dot on the map so visitors can find their business easier. The map will be a little larger, on a little heavier paper and there will be advertising opportunities outside on the map section.
The Deadline is November 1st for renewal and new members to be listed in the Guide and to reserve advertising space.
