27th Annual Pelican Festival Starts This Week

The 27th Annual Pelican Festival starts this Thursday.  Everything is ready to go, from the parade, to the carnival, to the Arts and Crafts Fair, to the Jason Meadows Concert on Saturday night. 

There is also a lot of other great entertainment that will be going on at the Grove Community Center. 

Friday, CC & Company will be playing from 3 pm – 7 pm.

On Saturday things open up at Noon at the Grove Community Center with the Magic of Doug Anderson.  At one will be the Uptown Dance Company.  The Green Country Squares will perform at 2 pm.  Doug Anderson will be on again at 3 pm and Rich Morris, who performs oldies and the songs of Buddy Holly, Elvis and more will be on stage at 4 and 6 pm.  At 5 pm the Grove choir will sing.

Sunday from 1-3 pm the New Harvest Picker will sing Old Time Gospel at the Grove Community Center.  For the kids there will be a clown on duty Saturday and Sunday.

The Cherokee Queen will be having Pelican Tours and the Royal Bay Restaurant will have a Pelican Festival Special all weekend long.

Antique Alley will have an appraiser on site and you can bring your antiques in to be examined on Saturday for $5 per item.  For more information on the appraisals, call 786-9109.

Jason Meadows tickets are still on sale for $20 in advance and $25 at the door.  The concert will be at the Royal Bay Theater Saturday night at 7:30.
