Grand Lake Chamber Article for 07-08-10 Chronicle of Grand Lake

Grand Still 3rd Largest Community in State Over 4th Weekend

Other than a few sporadic rains on Saturday to dampen some of the play time on the Lake we came out a whole lot better than our friends to the West who had to cancel their big displays. All in all the Lake lived up to the goal of becoming the third largest community in the State during the weekend of the 4th. Sounds as all played it safe and had good times.

Calls are still coming into the Chamber office for places to stay later this summer with groups for family reunions and business gatherings in the area. Another great reason to belong to the Grand Lake Area Chamber of Commerce, if we don’t have your information at the office we cannot tell folks about your services. And with the increase in tours of the dam, like another 600 last week, we have people looking for information every day. Don’t be left out! Call to join Today 918-782-3214.

The latest edition of the Grand Lake newcomers guide is out at locations all around the lake area, be sure and pick up a copy as it has lots of valuable information for all. Doug Drown has put together another great and useful tool for all businesses around the pond to show what the whole lake has to offer. In the back of the publication you will also find the membership listing for the Grand Lake Area Chamber of Commerce businesses and how to contact them for their services. If you can’t find a copy please give us a call at the Chamber and we will send you all you need.

I know it is a couple of weeks away, but I thought you should plan early for our next gathering. We are going to meet over on Monkey Island again at Anna’s Bananas for our luncheon. We have another good program with useful information for all who attend.  The date is July 22nd and will start at 11:30 AM and the cost is $10.00 at the door or $12.00 if you need to be billed. So call early to make your reservation and bring a check or cash and save a couple of bucks. 918-782-3214.
