Grand Lake Chamber Article for 04-15-10 Chronicle

What a Grand week we are having around the old pond…

By Jim Sellers

For those of you who don’t live here full time, this is the time of year you should plan to be here on a regular schedule. There is plenty of room on the lake and in area businesses for you to enjoy all Grand has to offer.

It is just one week before we all head to Monkey Island for the Annual Dine Around Monkey. Next Thursday evening we will have the Chamber’s next membership gathering and tour four of the island’s fun food and beverage places. It all starts at The Shebang, where Joyce and Larry will be ready to get us organized and send us off in three different groups to one of three other fun places.

Group A will start At Road Hog’s and sample their good food and beverages. Group B will first head to Island Joe’s Kentena, where last year the weather was just perfect for dinning alfresco. Group C will start at our newest member restaurant, Anna Banana’s, where Harrel will have his fun selection of food for us to taste. We first met Harrel when he was the Chef of the high end club at Remington Park in OKC. He created some really good buffets for us then and now continues to do the same here at Grand.

The cost of all of this fun is $40.00 per person. You will need a reservation for this event so we can have the right amount of food and transportation. Call the Chamber today on 918-782-3214 or Send Sheona your request at smoore@grandlakechamber.org

If you have not yet been to all of these fine eating places, this is your chance to see what fun food each spot has to offer. Then you can make plans for your next trip to the Island for a regular dining experience. Don’t get left out!

Stay tuned for other great events for this year. They all work to spread the word of all of our members and the services they can provide for you to enjoy Grand Lake even more.

HAVE A GREAT GRAND DAY!

Jim
